Works great as long as it's working
By AM
I have this installed as an in-line point of use heater for the kitchen sink. The main water heater is far away, so this allows instant hot water at the faucet. It works very well and mine is not expensive to run. However, be warned, it WILL leak sooner or later (probably sooner - few years). If installed under the sink cabinet, when it starts leaking you will have water everywhere. So rig up a catch basin to protect your cabinets. A cut-up plastic storage box works. Also don't neglect to change the anode rod, even though it's inconvenient to work on this thing under the sink. And you may want to change the heating element gasket while you're at it (common leak source). Other than the leaks, the other problem is that thermostat adjustments are difficult because the adjustment is behind the a cover plate, which makes isn't always easy to remove when working under the sink. Bosch has released a new model which is no longer called "Ariston", but it's too new to know if they have made the leak issue better or worse. It does look, from the photos, as though the thermostat setting is now available without removing the cover.I give the Ariston model only 2 stars because water heater needs to last longer than a few years and should not need as much attention as this does.

Effective water heater
By deanie
Due to the unusual design of our house, this is the only source of hot water in our kitchen. The GL 4Ti Artisan Pro does the job well, but has a short lifespan - this is our 3rd in six years.
