Watch out

We got the RP17PT and it worked awesome for the first year. Then the filter was clogged, paid plumber to find out how to clean (ouch). Then 6 months later one of the heating elements would trip off after 2-3 minutes of working. Find out you have to "Descale" every 6 months or lines will clog causing heater to trip. We were never informed of this happening when we purchased the unit. Descaling kit is around $200, and you have to buy more solution, $20, every time you descale. Product works great when working, but having to do all of this maintenance is a major pain in the wallet and butt.

Don't buy this item. You'll be enticed about the savings at first. We had the plumber and the electrician visit twice within the first year to trouble shoot no hot water to no avail and no answers. For us it was a complete waste of money. We are in the process of contacting the manufacter for a refund. We got a traditional water heater installed for $600.
